Customer Service Department:

I just discovered your website  and had no idea that so many others had problems with smelly washers and then the resulting smelly laundry.  I am trying to help my daughter with the sewer smell she picked up in her laundry after a visit to her neighborhood laundromat in New York City....where 90% of the population uses the laundromat.  It would be unreasonable for her to clean the washers using your method each time she did her laundry.  But...what can she do to get the sewer smell out of everything that she has laundered.  She has rewashed things 4 times now as well as soaked things in baking soda and/or vinegar.  Things are no better.  As her body warms up the bedding and/or clothing the smell becomes worse. Can you make any recommendations to get the smell out of her fabrics and also for  using landromat equipment in the future. Would any of you products work for her?

Hi,

You can’t control the use of the machines. Every one of them will have too much detergent and softener used previously.

The best thing to do is use a machine that gets a lot of use. Pick one that has just run a bunch of loads. That way others will have flushed out the machine before you use it. Don’t go too early in the day since the nasties can grow overnight.

Soaking in TechnoFresh will remove all odor from the machine if necessary. You can use half a capful or so in each wash to kill the odors. But that can get expensive. Maximize the load size to be most economical.

Use almost no detergent and softener yourself.

Good luck

Let me know how It works out.
